ABOUT M.H.S FILMS

M.H.S Films are filmmakers, Tu Neill and Nick Dwyer. Our main focus is documentary filmmaking but we also work creatively across music projects, live events and a gaming project due for release in early 2020.

As filmmakers, Tu and Nick have spent the past five years telling positive stories from around the world, through the lens of music and global, popular culture in both short and long form projects, working alongside a number of leading networks and brands including BBC Storyworks, Emirates, Vice, Etihad and extensive work with Red Bull.

Between them, Tu and Nick have filmed in over 60 countries around the world and have an address book that can get them to the heart of local culture in all of these places.

NICK DWYER

For more than 25 years, Nick has been consumed with the discovery of music from around the world. Starting his career in radio and television in New Zealand at the age of 14, Nick evolved from presenting music video shows to writing, directing and hosting his own long-form TV shows, including ‘Making Tracks’ which aired on both the BBC and National Geographic globally.

It was this experience that saw him join the coveted Red Bull Music Academy couch team as a host and interviewer in 2004. In 2014, he wrote and co-directed with Tu Neill the critically acclaimed ‘Diggin’ In The Carts’ documentary series which focused on the global impact of Japanese video game music. The series led to Nick producing a radio series, a compilation on Hyperdub Records and a global tour in which legendary Japanese video game composers and culture were taken to some of the best clubs, spaces and festival stages across the world.
